Of Palestinian origin from the city of ʿAkkā (Acre), Wasīm was born and raised in Khobar, Saudi Arabia in 1976. He migrated with his parents and siblings to Canada in 1987, where they settled in London, Ontario.
Since 1996, Wasīm has been actively involved in the Muslim community as a radio broadcaster, speaker and lecturer with a focus on clarifying doubts and misconceptions.
Wasīm completed Master of Arts in Islamic Studies (MAIS) in February of 2020 at the International Open University (IOU) established by Dr. Bilal Philips. He previously completed a B.Sc. in Islamic Economics, Banking and Finance (B.Sc. IBE) and Higher Diploma (Bridge to MA) from IOU.
He also holds an MBA and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has numerous courses in accounting, business, economics, and other related subjects at the college level since 2005.
Wasīm started his FaceBook page in November of 2015 to spread the pure and orthodox Islām. He strives to follow the way of the pious predecessors, our first ancestors, the generation of the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ and his Companions, may Allāh be pleased with them.
Everything in Islām begins with the correct ‘Aqīdah. The call to Islām always starts with teaching the proper Tawḥīd of Allāh, the way of all of the Prophets, peace be upon them.
